Historic Tribeca Loft Renovation

250 West St, NYC, NY

Popping colors!

Award-winning London Interior Designer, David Bentheim, partnered up with Chapter on this Tribeca apartment renovation. Famous for his colorful and eccentric style, the British designer delivered a fun space encapsulating good vibes throughout this home.

The master bathroom was beautifully enhanced with deep green square tiles installed throughout the space creating a charming yet warm aesthetic. To continue the play of retro meets modern, an English style free-standing bathtub was placed at one end of the bathroom while a modern walk-in shower was placed at the other end. To break with the traditional white tiles generally found in bathrooms, dark wood look-like porcelain tiles were selected complementing perfectly the forest green color found on the walls. Wonderful wrap-around large mirrors were installed brightening and enlarging the space instantly. Surrounding you with a peaceful feeling of nature.

Associated with optimism and energy, orange was the perfect color to convey a message of positivity throughout the apartment. From dynamic diagonal line movements on the hallway walls to color blocking in the powder room, David Benheim mastered the use of orange. Underlining its power by matching it with handcrafted Moroccain Zelige tiles in the powder room. This striking tile work is set in a plaster base to form wonderfully intricate patterns thanks to all the various colors and geometric shapes used in each tile. To add a focal point to the room, a large floating round mirror was hung on the main wall, reflecting a cool, bright light into the space.

Similarly to the master bathroom, the kitchen back splash features a light romantic blue square tile tying the style of the apartment together. Contrasted with dark brown wooden floor the chapter team opened up the space to make it inviting and warm when hosting friends and family.

The black and white diamond shaped tiling work in the guest bathroom is definitely the showstopper of this renovation project. The gorgeous graphic lines surrounding the bath area make for an unforgettable look. Although no colors are used in that space the overall positive energy is definitely well represented.
