Historic Pre-War Apartment Renovation

400 Convent Ave, NYC, NY

Before & After

Nestled in Hamilton Heights' historic district, in Upper Manhattan, this pre-war apartment received a complete transformation, with a special focus on the kitchen remodel and bathroom remodel. The kitchen received a complete overhaul, featuring brand-new cabinetry, striking black and white marble floors, a lively green tile backsplash, and a sleek black quartz countertop.

Simultaneously, the bathroom was re-designed, incorporating a shower conversion, black subway tile on the walls contrasting with the white mosaic tile on the floor, and bronze fixtures. An interesting and unique feature to the bathroom is the hand-crafted Victorian-style paper holder, which was part of our clients' collection of antique hardware. Plumbing and electrical systems were updated to meet contemporary standards, all while preserving the apartment's historical elements. Each room now boasts new doors and wood trims, and the original wood floor was preserved and given a fresh finish. The outcome is a practical and visually appealing living space.
